Almost all popular diets are based on restrictions. If the creators of a new fashion detox or nutrition system claim that consuming 1,000 calories a day or less is safe, don't believe it. Such extreme restrictions can be very expensive.

If you want to lose weight, the first thing you will be advised is less to eat. For some reason, those who want to lose weight take this advice literally: someone stops eating at all (usually a crush lasts for several days), someone eats apples or buckwheat. Such food leads to disruptions, after which the lost kilograms are returned. If you constantly restrict yourself in food, punish for an extra piece with exhausting exercises in the gym - these may be signs of an eating disorder. If you lose weight and you feel dizzy, your attention worsens and your irritability appears, then you do not have enough energy - not enough calories.

Calories are not just numbers on packaging your favorite cookies. Calories measure the amount of energy that this or that product gives the body. The daily calorie requirement is the sum of the energy needed to maintain the body and energy for physical and mental activity. More than half of the calories that we consume with food go to the work of the internal organs.

Thanks to this energy, our brain works, the heart pumps blood, and the kidneys process fluids. The rest of the calories is spent on daily physical activity (driving, climbing stairs, playing with children) and additional sports.

The only thing worth remembering: serious food restrictions lead not only to disruptions, but also to future health problems. If you want to lose weight, then just stop eating is not the right option.
