Ten-year-old skateboarder can take part in the Olympic Games

Skateboarder Sky Brown is only ten years old, and today she was on the list of applicants for participation in the Olympics from the UK. The athlete can break the record and become the youngest participant in the Games in history.

In 2020, the Summer Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo. For the first time, the program includes skateboard competitions. Today, five potential members of the national skateboard team have been named in the UK, among them the ten-year-old Sky Brown , the youngest professional skateboarder in the world.

If the team qualifies, the girl at the age of twelve will become the youngest participant in the Olympics. The previous record belongs to swimmer Margery Hinton, she was thirteen during the 1928 Olympics.

In February of this year Sky Brown took the first place at the Skateboard World Cup in Estonia, where she competed with adult rivals. Big sports brands sponsor the young skateboarder, Nike removes her in her campaigns with Serena Williams and Simone Biles. Together with the board manufacturer and charitable organization, Sky created a skateboard, all of the money from the sale of which (more than seventeen thousand dollars) will go to financing of skateboarding schools in poor regions of the world.

In addition to skateboarding, the girl dances and enjoys surfing. At the age of eight, Sky became the youngest participant in the US Open Surfing Championship Vans US O44en.

"My dream is to continue to travel around the world, skateboarding, surfing and staying a child. I also want to visit poor countries and help the children who live there, "says Sky.
