June 5 is World Environment Day and Ecologist Day in Russia. The Challenger talks about what each of us can do to make the world a cleaner place.
Each person produces about 400 kg of garbage per year, it will take several hundred years to decompose. More than half of this waste can be recycled and reused. Many complain about the lack of infrastructure, but it turns out that if you are a resident of the metropolis, it will not be so difficult for you to install a container for separate collection of recyclables in the yard.
We tell you what needs to be done in order to hand over glass, metal, plastic and paper for recycling:
With the request to send information booklets in electronic form, you can also contact the waste management operator that serves your area. If this is not possible, you can find suitable flyers on the Internet. Place posters and booklets in a conspicuous place.
To install the container in the courtyard of your house you need to collect signatures not less than 60 people. In this case, the voice of each tenant is considered separately.
If you don’t have time to get around the neighbors, collect electronic signatures - they are also accepted (for example, you can vote for installing the container through the
service on the Active Citizen platform) .
The document with the signatures can be taken to the management company that serves your home, or sent directly to
, which is involved in garbage collection in your area.
If the application is executed correctly, the container for separate collection of waste may appear next to your home within 10 days of filing. It is worth checking with the operator who will pick up the recyclables, which types of plastic are accepted for processing, how to prepare glass and paper.
eco-activist, with his participation, five containers were installed for separate waste collection in one of the sleeping areas of Moscow
When I was installing the first container, I had serious doubts that everything would work out.
To complicate matters, there is no legislative base in Russia where it would be spelled out how to install a tank for separate waste collection. At first I did not know how to act correctly, and sent several letters to official departments. In response, I received unsubscribe. Then I began to collect signatures, the neighbors supported my initiative (out of 170 people, only five were against it). Now in my and several other yards of the district there are tanks for separate collection, which residents are actively using.
