Fitballs come in diameters from 45 to 90 cm. The diameter is selected depending on your height:

  • A ball with a diameter of 45 cm is suitable for someone whose height is 155 cm and below;
  • diameter 55 cm is designed for growth from 155 to 170 cm;
  • 65 cm - for growth from 170 to 190 cm;
  • 75 cm - for height from 190 to 200 cm;
  • the highest need a ball with a diameter of 85 or 90 cm.

But growth is not the only thing to consider when choosing a size. To see if the fitball is right for you, sit on it , keeping your back straight and check if these conditions are met:

  • both feet are on the floor , the body weight is distributed evenly;
  • knees - at the level of the pelvis or slightly lower, the angle in the knee is 90 degrees or slightly more, the hips are parallel to the floor;
  • the pelvis, shoulders and ears are in a straight line.

If your weight is above average, the ball under you will shrink harder. Accordingly, you need a larger ball to comply with the 90 degree rule.

Exist balls with a smooth and massage (in tubercles) surface. For training, smooth fitball is suitable. Massage The ball is intended for relaxation and physiotherapy exercises. It is not suitable for fitness, as it moves heavily on the floor. There are balls with various holders : horns, pens, stands in the form of legs.

Balancing on such fitballs is easier, so beginners should pay attention to them.

There are several parameters on which you should pay attention when buying a fitball:
