Another great event in the run: Kenyan athlete Bridget Cosgey set a new world record at the Chicago marathon. Its result is 2:14:04, which is a minute and 21 seconds faster than the record of Paula Radcliffe, set 16 years ago.
Following Eliud Kipchoge, who only yesterday made a breakthrough in the marathon, having run 42.2 km faster than two hours, Kenyan athlete Bridget Cosgey set a new record at the Chicago marathon.
The previous record was set by Paula Radcliffe in London in 2003.
Then the Englishwoman ran 42.2 km in 2:15:25.
Today Brigitte Cosgey won the Chicago marathon with a score of 2:14:04. This is the world record that 16 years have been waiting for.
