The main character of the film "Inside Inside" - a participant in the 2019 Moscow International Film Festival - Karen, a psychotherapist. Her patients are people with a dissociative identity disorder: several independent personalities live in the same body at the same time. Each has its own character, its own baggage of life experience, its own interests and goals. This is not the first time this topic has been raised in art. One of the most famous literary works about the nature of dissociative disorders is Daniel Keyes' documentary novel, The Mysterious Story of Billy Milligan.
