Five main excuses that prevent you from living

You think a lot, reason a lot, but you just can’t decide on the main step. You call your indecision perfectionism - a beautiful word, behind which is actually not the most beautiful feeling. And that feeling is fear. We talk about what other excuses prevent you from developing, below (we found five).

"No, wait, I'm not ready yet (a)" - this is the most common excuse, thanks to which you can quietly retreat from the battlefield and keep your own status quo untouched.

We cling to this phrase to prevent changes that are likely to make us move. But the bottom line is that no one is ever ready for change. More precisely, in principle it is impossible to prepare for them. You can study a million books about motherhood or fatherhood, but your personal experience will still be different from the stories that you read and which your friends and colleagues will tell you about. Few people feel ready for the next life stage, just each person decides for himself what is stronger - his desire or his fear.

The news in one line: you don’t have to sit in wait and wait for the moment when you finally feel ready. If you constantly feel inner trepidation at the thought of a new job, entering a college or starting your own business, then consider that you are ready. Psychologically accurate.

Sometimes our attitude towards ourselves and our the perception of one's strengths and weaknesses has nothing to do with the real situation.

And this is absolutely normal. The meditation teacher Tara Brac claims: our thoughts are "real, but not always true." So do not take the momentary value judgments of your own mind too seriously. Many personal development coaches are convinced in principle (and often write about this in their books): a person from the very beginning is endowed with the necessary power to independently shape his thoughts. So if the internal editorial board again claims that you are not good enough for something, do not give in - you are always good enough to take a chance and at least try.

"Great idea, but for this you need ... "- if your interlocutor begins his answer with these words, know: then you will hear another excuse.

Of course, because in order to go to the beach, you need a bumpy press and a flat stomach (yes, it says “only for thin people” at the entrance), to open your own business, you need a multimillion-dollar start-up capital and Mark Zuckerberg as companion, and to get a new job, you need to have almost three higher education and an MBA.

All of the above is nothing more than a set of stereotypes and attitudes, and attitudes that exist exclusively in your head. They prevent you from developing and do not allow you to accept a simple fact - there are no ideal conditions. And your task is to be flexible and learn how to get the most out of what is here and now. After all, tomorrow it may not be.

The birds will sing especially loudly, angels I will play my divine harps especially melodically, and you will especially carefully analyze the trash accumulated over many years in the writing desk (and you will definitely ask the boss for an increase and call a friend whom you have not seen for more than five years - do not disappear on such a day ) Now tell me honestly - do you really believe that this sacred moment will ever come? Unfortunately no. We have bad news for you: the only day you have is today (you missed yesterday). You should not especially count on tomorrow, because tomorrow, most likely, will be the same as today (sorry for the pun). And since there is no difference, then why wait?

If you meet everyone the proposal is skeptical “yes, but” probably behind your back a whole cemetery of unrealized opportunities and at the same time very few friends. After all, everything that you say after the “but” union can completely discourage the interlocutor’s desire to share his ideas with you - who wants to “take” a cold shower out of skepticism and boredom?

Remember: is in any situation your "buts", and it depends only on you how you use them - say "Yes, it’s interesting, but I pass" or "Yes, it’s difficult, but I’ll risk it."

And what will be your “but”?
