The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Unit publishes a ranking of the happiest countries every year. Finland leads the ranking for already
for two consecutive years
. Compared to last year, Russia dropped nine positions and now occupies 68th place.
The five happiest countries besides Finland included Denmark, Norway, Iceland and the Netherlands. Last, 156th place, took South Sudan.
When compiling the rating, experts evaluate countries according to six parameters: GDP per capita, social support, life expectancy, freedom of citizens to independently make vital decisions, generosity and attitude to corruption.
