Breathing is the natural and fastest way to get out of stress. There are many different breathing practices and exercises, the most correct and effective is diaphragmatic breathing (it is also full yogic breathing). To master it is quite simple - the air is not accumulated in the upper part of the lungs (as usual), but in the abdominal cavity.

By the way, this type of breathing is used not only by actors, but also by vocalists for proper singing.

Engaged in diaphragmatic breathing daily for 15-20 minutes, you will soon feel a surge of energy - sleep will improve, bags under the eyes will disappear, the skin will become fresher.

Everyone knows the feeling of helplessness - a feeling, when you find yourself in a dead end and cannot find a way out. The imaginative thinking inherent in creative people allows you to look at the situation from the side.

For example, imagine this very dead end in the form of a wall that is so close that nothing is visible behind it. At this moment, a reflex desire arises to step back to see the perspective, or to present the barrier transparent and visualize what is hidden behind it. A great way to switch attention, relieve stress and stupor - a hopelessness will be replaced by a rational assessment of the situation, and there will be a solution by itself.

The key to a successful performance is careful preparation .

Everything is like in a theater, the best improvisation is a pre-prepared improvisation. Remember Mark Twain: “It usually takes me more than three weeks to prepare a brilliant, impromptu speech.” Success is in your pocket if during your speech your focus is on three main questions:

  • The purpose of your speech?
  • For whom and for what are you here?
  • What do you want the audience to do after your performance?

Feeling excited about the performance? It's okay, nowhere without it! Do not "sit too long" in experiences, this is unproductive. Overcome the excitement of action. Moderate physical activity (such as walking) will help to switch attention and reduce stress.

Actors regularly learn huge texts, and obviously, they have effective methods tested by experience and time. Consider one of them.

  • Before learning a text, you need to familiarize yourself with it - read it from beginning to end, evaluate the volume and feel its rhythm.
  • Then it is necessary to break the text into logical blocks, the semantic content of which looks complete.

    One such block may contain several paragraphs.

  • When the text is arranged in blocks, you can begin to memorize. Each new sentence is repeated several times from memory and then combined with the previous ones - thus the text is collected on the basis of a snowball. Memorized separately blocks automatically form a single text in your head.

There is one more trick: it is better to memorize a large text to yourself, throat dries out from reading out loud and fatigue sets in faster.

The level of acting is closely associated with a range of human sensitivity. The wider your heart is open, the finer your receptors are set to empathize with other people, the more attractive you are for society - those around you want to be with you because they feel your caring attitude towards their feelings.

The development of personal empathy is a rather fashionable topic, psychologists and coaches everywhere give recommendations and master classes promising success and a new quality of life. But in fact, this is an internal process and a lot of work on oneself.

When an actor learns a new role, his focus is primarily on the character’s inner world. It is not so important to remember what the hero says and does - no, it is important to feel what he felt, to understand how he motivated his actions. The actor does not play a role, he lives it, finding in himself the edges reflecting the experiences of the character. The more of these faces you discover in yourself, the more you notice them in other people. If you are not an actor, train your sensitivity by reading books and watching movies.

When communicating with people, replace your value judgment with a desire to know the motive and feelings of your opponent.
