- Flatulence, or bloating, is called an accumulation of gases in the intestines caused by various deviations in the digestive process. Flatulence is manifested by an increase in the abdomen, bloating and a feeling of fullness. You should not ignore such symptoms - they may indicate serious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

There are many reasons for the occurrence of flatulence - below we analyze the most common.

Typically, flatulence is caused by foods with a high glycemic index and foods that contain a lot of sugar. For example, pearl barley, potato chips, rice porridge, crackers, milk chocolate, semolina, white and brown sugar, fruits, vegetables and all legumes. Having received gluten or glucose in a larger amount than usual, the body can not cope - the products begin to be absorbed more slowly, which allows bacteria to multiply.

Therefore, the first thing to do with a sudden bloating is to make a food diary of the last three days and go to the doctor with him.

In some cases, the qualitative and quantitative ratio of microorganisms changes - alien atypical bacteria appear.

Usually this is due to non-observance of personal hygiene rules. Uncleaned hands, dirty dishes, and dirty foods provoke the growth of bacteria that release methane, hydrogen, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon dioxide. It is these substances that provoke bloating.
