adidas introduced sneakers printed on a 3D printer

adidas introduced the new ALPHAEDGE4D sneakers. The sole of the sneaker is printed on a 3D printer using Digital Light Synthesis technology. This technology combines digital breathable optics, liquid resins and light projection, which are made from durable polymer materials. The top of the shoe is made of high-tech threads and fits the foot like a seamless toe. This provides support and comfort during sudden movements during training.

"Digital Light Synthesis is the next generation 3D printing." The fourth dimension "is the data on the athletes and their needs, accumulated over many years, which determine the complex geometric structure of the model." says Marco Cormann, director of 3D printing and digital production at adidas.
