From June 8 to July 8, runners can make a personal contribution to solving the problem of plastic pollution of the oceans.
The campaign started in Gorky Park together with adidas Runners. The following races will be held on June 23 and July 8. In total, 12 global races will be organized in six key cities around the world. And on June 16 and 30 the running community will unite for plogging - collecting garbage while jogging.
This movement is gaining momentum around the world, and Moscow was no exception. On Thursdays, adidas BASEMOSCOW Sports Center will host open meetings and lectures from partners - PADI, the Institute of Oceanology and others.
Everyone can join the charity event with using the online race. To do this, you need to download the running application Runtastic or Joyrun. Runners will be able to track runs for a month and try to achieve a common goal - one million kilometers.
Once it is achieved, adidas will provide one dollar per kilometer to support the Parley Ocean Plastic Program.
To tell about the problem of pollution of the oceans, athletes Sean Miller, Tori Bowie and Wade van Nickerk will join the world movement.
