5 ways to relieve stress and instantly cheer up

- My working day traditionally begins with the fact that I pick up the phone and read all the messages accumulated over night. During the day I receive an average of a thousand messages - there are 50 work and personal chats in my phone (with the advent of Telegram in the life of our agency, only important letters are "fixed" in the mail). Of course, at some point, due to the huge amount of information, it becomes quite difficult to concentrate on something really important.

Especially for such cases, I have formulated five principles that help me cope with stress and recover. I turn to them whenever I understand: everything is nerves to the limit.

So there they are.

Disable push notifications in all instant messengers and social networks. Better yet, remove all social networking applications from your phone and leave only messengers. So you will lose the desire to constantly scroll the news, open unnecessary links and, as a result, overload yourself with unnecessary information. Try to log in to the social networks no more than three to five times a day and not spend your working time on them (there are always photos of vacationers and idle people in the feed - why should you look at them?).

If you need to lay out something - lay out and remove the phone (until the evening, chur, do not touch it).

In addition, if you can’t correctly plan your day, and the reason for your neurosis is eternal time pressure, read Mark Manson’s book “The Subtle Art of Pofigism: A Paradoxical Way to Live Happily” and David Horsager’s work “Hour of Silence. And 34 more tools to save your time and energy. " These books will help to solve all the problems associated with time management.

Create a daily ritual for yourself - for example, make it a rule to walk to the nearest coffee shop or go to the fruit store. Even minimal physical activity contributes to the production of endorphins - hormones that improve mood. In addition, walking reduces muscle tension, which also has a positive effect on the nervous system and helps relieve stress. Ideally, of course, if you can several times a week, for example at lunch, go to yoga or Pilates.

And again: when you go on such a walk, be sure to leave the phone in the office.

The positive influence of your favorite music on the emotional state of a person, it seems, has already been proved by all scientists. I recommend making some inspirational playlists and listening to them whenever nervous tension reaches its limit.

Open travel blogs, find reviews about the country of your dreams, see websites with clothes or other cool things that you like - transfer your desires from the " dreams "into the category of" goals ".

Goals for the sake of which you can overcome any difficulties and obstacles (for example, if necessary, work more).

Call a friend and talk with him about things that do not intersect with work. Important: this should be a "live" conversation, not a nervous correspondence. A five-minute conversation on abstract topics is enough to return to normal.

As my colleague said, we don’t save people and if we don’t check the mail within two hours, no one will die. What can not be said about our nerve cells - they are not known to be restored.
